Five years ago I chose brand new couches for our family room. Light blue microfiber beauties. I love them. They’re so bright, cheery AND comfy. Obviously leather would have been a better choice for longevity, you know the whole wipe clean thing but I’m just not a fan. About 6 months in the OCD in me went into overdrive and I needed to get them clean.
To do this you will need rubbing alcohol, the 91% kind, the higher the percentage the better, a scrub brush and a spray bottle. Since alcohol dries faster than water it does not leave water spots on the couch.
Here is the left side of one of my couches. Black marker, some mystery white spots and something orange up there.
Spray the spots thoroughly. Oh, you should open a window or turn the fan on. It gets stinky.
Scrub with your scrub brush. Scrub in circles, up & down and side to side. You’re done when the spot is gone. Then you just let it dry!
You can see it’s still wet but no more spots!
This my friends is orange pastel crayon. It’s been there for months.
This was after one round of scrubbing. I had to do a second, it was really in there.
It came totally out after a second spray and scrub.
Looks like new!
I hope this helps some of you microfiber couch owners out there!
