I’m just one of those women who “puts on her face” before leaving the house everyday. I’m a total makeup and skin care junkie. I live for trips to Ulta and Sephora. I’ve tried more makeup products than you can imagine. I’m always on the lookout for a concealer that will cover my dark circles just a little more than the last. I know my way in, out and around a beauty counter.
So since I am a beauty product addict I want to share with you my absolute favorite products!
My go to makeup routine usually consists of foundation, concealer, powder, blush and bronzer, eyebrow pencil and mascara.
I alternate between three.
For days when I’m looking for sheer coverage and the most natural look I go to my Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation. When I purchased this I wasn’t sure how much I would really like it, I just thought it was super cool how it flawlessly changes to the shade of your skin but I use it ALL the time.
When I want more coverage I use my Boots No7 Stay Perfect Foundation. This can be found at target which is so great. It has great staying powder, lasts all day even in the southern humidity and has such a beautiful finish. Like you just drank a gallon of water and are so darn healthy.
For nights out or when I’m doing something when I want to look my best I use Make Up Forever HD Foundation Stick. This has amazing full coverage without looking fake. It lasts hours and comes in a range of colors. It’s a little heavy so I usually don’t wear it during the humid days but you totally could.
I have dark circles. I’ve tried a butt load of products that sweat to diminish them. I’m stuck with them and I’m trying to accept it. After trying at least 20 different concealer a I’ve found a few that work quite well.
For the ultimate coverage I use Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer. It has extreme coverage and is very creamy so it blends well. And a little goes a long way, I’m talking half a pea size for both under eye area.
My everyday under eye concealer is the Bare Minerals Complete Coverage Serum Concealer. It’s so creamy and easy to apply but very light weight at the same time.
I use an all over face powder to set my foundation and a powder over my under eye concealer.
For my all over face powder I use Rimmel Stay Matte All Over Face powder in translucent. It comes in a bunch of different colors but I choose to use the translucent shade. And hooray for a drugstore product!
Powder under your eyes needs to be lightweight so it doesn’t settle into the tint creases we all have. I used to use the Elf micro powder but got a recommendation to use an hourglass highlighter to give your under eye an extra pop and holy Jesus it makes a difference. I use the Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Light Powder in Etheral Light. It has just a little hint of shimmer but not too much that it looks weird.
Bronzer and Blush
I’ve been using the Nars Laguna Bronzer for years. It complements all skin tones and looks so natural. I use it around the perimeter of mt face to give me a healthy sun-kissed look.
There’s a reason that Nars Orgasm blush is a serious cult favorite. It has the perfect amount of gold shimmer and the most gorgeous peachy pink color. Wearing this makes me look like I just went for a run, without the sweat or the heavy breathing.
Brows & Lashes
Nothing completes a look better than sculpted eye brows and voluminous lashes.
My brows are sparse. If I don’t fill them in they look ridiculous. After years of using the Anastasic Brow Wiz pencil I tried the NYX Micro Brow Pencil. It was half the cost and looked the same. I’m pretty sure they actually are the same product just packaged differently. Save that money girl!
I’m all about lashes. I have very long lashes but they aren’t very voluminous. I gravitate to volumizing mascaras rather than lengthening. Nothing does the job better than Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. It really pumps ’em up, like I’m wearing falsies.
Start to finish my every-day makeup takes me about 15 minutes.
Let me know what your favorite makeup products are! I’m always on the search for new ones!
